Pastured eggs, chicken and chicks
Eggs from hens that spend their days on grass
A pastured poultry farm: laying hens moved to fresh pasture every few days, meat birds raised the same way in small batches, and chicks hatched each spring for people starting a flock of their own.

WHAT WE RAISE
Eggs, birds and the next flock
Everything about the egg starts with where the hen spends her day
Our hens live in mobile coops that are towed to fresh grass every few days. They scratch, dust-bathe, eat bugs and clover, and lay in nest boxes they walk back to each afternoon. The yolks are the color they are because of that, not because of anything added to the feed.
Meat birds are raised in the same way in small batches through the warmer months, processed on a date you can put in the calendar, and sold whole. In spring the incubators run, and the chicks and started pullets go to families and small farms starting out.
A hen's day
- Let out at first light
- Forages on grass, clover and insects
- Lays in a nest box by mid-morning
- Dust-bathes in the afternoon
- Walks back to the coop at dusk
- Coop moved to fresh grass every few days
FROM EGG TO EGG
How a bird is raised here
1. Hatch or arrive
Chicks hatch in our incubators or arrive day-old, and go into a warm brooder on clean straw.
2. Onto grass
At a few weeks old they move out to pasture in mobile coops with room to roam.
3. Moved and watched
Coops are towed to fresh grass every few days; birds are checked morning and evening.
4. Collected and sold
Eggs are gathered daily and washed the same day. Meat birds are processed on a published date.

IN THEIR WORDS
What customers say about the eggs
A short quote from a happy client belongs here. Two or three sentences is usually enough to make the point without losing the reader.
Replace this with something a real customer said. Specific praise reads better than a general compliment, so keep whatever detail they gave you.
Testimonials work best when they name the problem that was solved. Leave the wording as close to how it was said as you can.
QUESTIONS
The ones we get at market
The hens live outdoors on grass in coops that are moved to a fresh patch every few days. They are shut in at night for safety and let out at first light. Come and see the pasture on any open day.
A hen on pasture lays fewer eggs than a hen in a cage, eats more feed because she is active, and needs more labor because the coop moves. The price is what it costs to raise a hen that way, plainly.
You choose a dozen or two a week and a pickup point, and we hold them for you. Pay by the month; pause when you travel.
Hatching runs from March to May. Reserve early; the popular breeds go first. Started pullets are available from early summer.
